This can really vary, you might find you only have 1-2 engagements per year or alternatively a number of various jobs. The number of engagements will start to narrow once you've been with the firm for 1+ years. There are multiple stages to an engagement i.e. in audit there's planning, execution, conclusion etc. You might find these are spread out throughout the year and you may only be with the client for one - two elements of the audit. For example, I've spent 1-2 weeks on some clients in a supporting role and some take 6 months of my time over the course of a year with a more prominent role.
After the first year or so, you'll know which engagements you are likely to be on for long term. These are usually the jobs where you've been allocated for 1-2 months (or more).
