The maths for college and work mainly involves simple calculations and number manipulation. In your exams you have access to a calculator and at work spreadsheets are used to aid working with numbers. I would say it's important that you are comfortable with interpreting numbers and are happy with fairly simple number manipulation, but it definitely isn't necessary to have a high level of mathematics education.
