Hi Eleanor, I am Shalom. I am a first year apprentice, and What has happened for me so far is that EY books our lessons via a training provider (normally, for my courses, it is up to 5 days). After learning the course, we then have about 2-3 weeks to revise and prepare to take the exam
Exams for me are normally online, but we can also do exams in person too
Does that answer your question?
Hi Shalom, Thank you for your answer this was very helpful! Adding onto it, does this mean that during the 2-3 weeks revision you get paid study leave so you don’t have to come in to the office and work or is it a bit of both?
Hi Eleanor, I can answer this question for you, during the 2-3 week revision block, you will still be on client work so you will have to manage your work and study time. Hope that helps!
Thank you for your answer Sal this really helps!
I’m going to be starting the apprenticeship in Assurance and working towards getting my ICAS. Since the apprenticeship is a 5 year course and typically the CA exams are completed in 3 years how will my exams be structured through the year? e.g will i be doing exams over all the years or only 3?
The apprenticeship is now four years long (this is a very recent change) and your exams will be spread out throughout
Will this be in formal writing in the more in detail contract which is sent out nearer the time?
During your induction the professional qualifications team will tell you more information
Thank you Nathan!
