How much time is spent in the office behind a computer working compared to time studying or even time spent meeting with clients? (on a normal year basis, as I imagine there have been some changes with COVID)
Hi Alex - from my 1st year experience in the Business Apprenticeship programme in Tax I worked full time either in the office or at client site. You will have scheduled block release leave to attend college for your studies (these have been virtual in recent months due to COVID-19). In Tax you also attend in-house EY corporation tax training for 3-4 weeks per year (other service lines may have something similar but I am speaking solely from a tax perspective).
Okay thank you, Is this meaning that any work towards exams is done in a cramming period rather than having time during a normal working day?
Hi Alex - as with the graduate programme, those business apprentices studying towards a professional qualification are required to study in the evening after work as well as at the weekends. Relevant study leave is also given to students coming up to the time of their exams.
Okay. Yes makes sense. Thank you for running this chat room, it has been very helpful.
Have a lovely evening
