Graduate programme - What options to select in the registration form for Visa related questions?

Hi, in the UK graduate program registration form, which options do I select for the "right to work permanently in the UK" & "apply for a Graduate visa" questions? I am currently on a student visa. I will graduate in 2025 and will need sponsorship for my graduate visa from the employer. Thank you!

Hi there, please see guidance below:

We welcome applications from all candidates, but if you require visa sponsorship there are some restrictions you’ll need to know about before you apply.

If you are already eligible to work in the UK or you are able to secure a visa granting permission to work in the UK independently without the support of EY, you may be eligible to apply to one of our Graduate programmes without sponsorship. Note that the right to work in the UK must subsist for the entire duration of the Graduate programme. You must be able to provide valid evidence of this right prior to receiving any offer of employment. Note that if you have a visa that gives you the right to work in the UK, it must be within your current passport or Biometrics Residence Permit or e-Visa approval notification which allows for the right to work check to be done in line with the applicable right to work legislation at the time. You can find out more about working visas from the UK Home Office - Visas and Immigration website: https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas">https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas

If you hold a valid student or work visa we may be able to switch you to an EY sponsored visa from within the UK. EY has a set number of Certificate of Sponsorship applications that can be made each year. If this limit is reached and other Home Office requirements can not be met, it may prevent us from being able to sponsor and therefore employ you. If you require visa sponsorship, and you meet the eligibility requirements, some of our graduate programmes can support all the conditions set out by the Home Office Codes of Practice. There are minimum salary requirements that need to be met in order to be eligible for a sponsored visa. You can find out which vacancies are able to support applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship by looking at the individual vacancy pages.

Please also be aware that the Home Office regularly change the immigration rules. If that happens, and the changes affect the viability of your application before your start date, we reserve the right to change how we process applications in line with the new regulations. Having a valid right to work status in place in time for the first day of the graduate programme is a mandatory condition of you being able to start work with EY.

If you’re unsure about your eligibility to work in the UK, please visit the UK Home Office - Visas and Immigration website: https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas">https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas

Thank you for your response, Jen!
I have another query regarding graduate programmes and summer internships. Could you please help me with the below?

If I have applied to a graduate scheme, can I not apply for a summer internship? When I try to apply for an internship, I am redirected to my graduate programme application.
    Hoping to hear from you.
    Thank you :)

Hi Archita, thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately, you can only apply to one programme because we want you to apply the programme that interests you the most.

If you go through the process and want to apply to another programme, you can withdraw but you will need to start from the very beginning of the process – we're unable to offer any swaps throughout the recruitment process. If you are rejected from any stage in the process, in line with our policy, you will need to wait six months before making another application to an EY student vacancy.
