What grade requirements are suggested for a finance role at your firm, and what tips would you give before applying at your firm?
It is great to hear that you're interested in our finance role! Here at EY, we have an open access policy, meaning we don't screen your application on academic performance alone! So in terms of grade requirements, you will need a grade 4/C in Maths and English Language and for our Graduate programme, have three A levels of equivalent also. Please can you give me an idea of what programme you're looking to apply to?
Yes its the school leavers program for Tax, but I havent completed my A levels yet so will I still be able to apply for a role
Thanks for clarifying - so you will be applying for our apprenticeship programme. You are absolutely able to apply, despite not having your A Levels. During your application form, you can submit your expected A Level results. These will then be screened by our team. If you are successful in our application process and receive an offer, we will verify your obtained A Level before you join! I hope this helps.
Perfect when I tried applying,I tried putting I will finish my A-levels in 2024, but there was no option for 2024 so is it okay if you send me a link of the application for current A-level students.
Which programme did you apply to? here is the link we have: https://eycareers.ambertrack.global/studentrecruitment2024/CandidateLogin.aspx?e=401
It was the one for Tax
If you have any issues with this due to the application dates, please contact our helpline here: Telephone: +44(0)800 289 208 between Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5.30pm UK time or email the Student Recruitment team: https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/evergreen-assets/safelinks/1/atp-safelinks.html
Also are there any tips you guys would suggest for a current a level student like work experience or programs or skills to learn?
If you're in year 12 / S5 we have the Career Starters work experience programme. Otherwise you can use our Preparation Plus website to go through the modules which will help you prepare for your application.
The portal is split into three modules which can be completed at your pace:
- Career Ready - focussing on strengths
- Assessment Ready - assessment practice (including NRT!)
- Showcase - EY specific Job Simulation
Access the platform: https://ey.preparationplus.com/
Is there any Yr13 ones? I can do maybe on the weekend or holiday
Sadly not - our programmes are structured. You can view them all here - https://www.ey.com/en_uk/careers/students/programmes/schools
If you are in Year 13, you would be eligible for our Apprenticeship programmes (school leaver)
Yes perfect, for skills what would you say are the most specific to the Tax role?
I would recommend keeping an eye on our events page (on the schools tab) so you can sign yourself up for future webinars. They are really helpful in providing further information on our core EY strengths and how to excel in our application process. Your day-to day- could involved the following:

Hi Zayn, All of our strengths we look for are on our website at www.ey.com/uk/strengths - and you can also watch our website on some of the skills our people have on our Youtube channel here:
Thank you very much I actually really appreciate this information and I feel as if ive all of those skills and have applied them to work experience or school
Thanks
Last question how much applications can I apply for?
Hi Zayn, you can only apply for one role in one location. It you fail the application process, you will not be able to reapply for 6 months again. So the earlier you apply, the better!
So can I apply for multiple locations?
Hi Zayn, You can only apply for one location in your application.
Ok thanks.
