For the CIMA qualification, are the exams set dates with our cohort or do we decide when to take them?

Hi, this may depend on your office/department, but in my experience there are fixed dates given for your cohort, but there may be some flexibility depending on the circumstances - I know someone in my cohort was able to bring a few of their exams forward as they had a quiet period between projects where they were able to study more. I hope that helps!

Is the studying for the exams done completely independently outside of office hours?

And should I expect the first exams to be soon after I join?

Hi Francesca, you will get study leave for each exam (usually 3-4 days), but any extra studying for the exams will usually be outside of office hours. The timing of the first exams may depend on your department - my first exam was quite soon after joining but we were given a full week of live lectures to help prepare for this, so I wouldn't worry about it before you start.
