It depends on the qualification. In assurance for example, you will be granted a period of study leave and then you will be back to work. This year, I was working throughout Jan-March, off for April-May, working June-July, off for August and back again since September. It's nice to get a good balance and range of experience! Any follow up q's just let me know! :)
Thanks! How do you find the block release format as opposed to the day release? Is it purely seperate or would you partly work on the job aspect at the same time as studying? Also, is this typically carried out virtually or face to face?
Hi Tabassum - I do find the block release format quite helpful, as this is a time period when I know I can focus on my studies, and do not have to think about work. There is a mix of face to face, and online/self study modules - depending on the specific ACA exam module you are on. This time is blocked out as excused leave, so you do not have to do any client work.
I was on the digital apprenticeship and had a bit more flexibility over my study leave, especially in my final year when working on my dissertation. I found day release helpful if I needed to collaborate with people in working hours to flesh out my dissertation and found block release better when I wanted to lock in and get a large portion done without distractions 😀
Thank you so much, this is really helpful!
