Or is everything taught to you when you join the company?
Hi Josh :)
Hi Mia!
Although I am an apprentice so joined straight from doing A-Levels, I can definitely say that you don't need an accountancy degree to join EY. I work with many graduates at my office who have done such a variety of degrees (chemistry, geography, etc.) and they still are as equal in the job as someone who has an accountancy degree. If you do have one, you may find it helps in certain small aspects in your ACA qualification on some topics at the start but you definitely aren't disadvantaged if you haven't studied that particular area before as they take you from the beginning :)
Hey Josh, to second that, I did a chemistry degree and had no experience with accounting prior to applying to the summer internship. Out of the 20ish grads from my office only a couple had accounting knowledge, and the tutors for exams start you right from the beginning so no one feels left behind!
Thank you!
