Hi Ayo. Few things: ask lots and lots of questions - the only way you'll learn in your service line is by asking questions and learning on the job. Speak to people - whether that be your counsellor, buddy, engagement manager, others in the office - ask about their experience and advice and you'll be able to learn a lot and understand the different opportunities and pathways out there.

    Hi, great question!

I’d recommend speaking to your counsellor as soon as you join — they’re like a mentor and can really help you make the most of your time. Ask them to help you create a clear “game plan” for your internship.

I’d also suggest mapping out the different areas you want to explore, including:

    1. The main projects you can get involved in
    2. Side jobs or ad hoc tasks to broaden your exposure
    3. Any internal trainings you can attend
    4. Volunteering opportunities (if available)
    5. Coffee chats or networking with people across the team

Being intentional from the start will help you get the most out of the experience and show your initiative. Good luck — enjoy it!
