I would say a challenge that I face is choosing the type of companies I'd like to work with. With EY being such a diverse company, choosing where you'd like to specialise is difficult! From retail to construction to service-based companies, there is a range of companies which you can work with to deliver the desired results and choosing my portfolio is a challenge.
Being part of the Global Mobility Tax (Expat Tax) Team, one of my biggest challenges to date is to, not only learn the rules from the UK side, but to start to broaden my knowledge in the international area of international tax. We work across many many jurisdictions in the world who have a very different take on tax and what is taxable. Navigating through the double tax treaties can be difficult but poses a unique opportunity to learn something new.
