I'm an international student that has recently accepted an offer for the Assurance Grad Programme in Cambridge.

Following the recent announcement by the Home Office on the changes to immigration policies dated 14th March 2024, I find myself in need of some advice and understanding.

My particular concern lies with the adjustment in the minimum salary threshold for the 2421 Chartered and Certified Accountants category, now set at £32,670, as detailed in page 93 of the Statement of Changes in Immigration Rules document. This figure exceeds my agreed starting salary of £30,200, prompting me to consider the potential implications for my skilled worker visa application and subsequent employment with EY.

Given the challenges that such policy changes can present for both individuals and organisations, your guidance on how we might navigate this situation together would be greatly appreciated. Your expertise and advice during this uncertain period would be of immense value to me, as I am keen and committed to beginning my career with EY.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to your feedback and any suggestions for possible steps forward.

Could I potentially transfer to the London office due to the policy change? The salary there surpasses the minimum threshold. Additionally, I have friends undergoing assessment centres for the same programme in London shortly, so I'm curious about any vacancies. For context, I initially applied for the London office but was redirected to Cambridge due to it being full. However, it seems people are still being considered for London.

I am facing a similar issue as Darwish.

Just to add here, I think the minimum salary threshold is 30,960 for the new entrants. In any case, I am facing the same issue of a lower salary.
