How should we prepare for CIMA in Business consulting role? Will there be study leaves? Is the exam hard and requires a lot of time to prepare? How many times can we take the exam? Will EY sponsor exam for the higher ranks (operational/strategy etc)
Hi Daisy, I'm currently completing my CIMA exams. There's no need to prepare before you start, as you'll be provided with exam preparation material that covers all of the content you'll need. There is study leave (usually 3-4 days for each exam), and this is typically enough time to cover all of the content. I have no accountancy background and found that the content wasn't too difficult. You can resit if needed, but I don't think anyone in my cohort has needed to do that. The final question may depend on your department, but I know that in FAAS, EY are happy to cover the costs of continued CIMA studies - hopefully this is the same across other service lines too. I hope that helps!
Thank you Chloe! How are the 4 exams spread through the entire program? My service line is business consulting
Hi Daisy, for FAAS they are spread across the first year of the graduate program - I had my first exam a few weeks after joining and my fourth exam is coming up in August. I'm not sure if this is the same for business consulting but it's likely to be a similar schedule.
Thank you Chloe! That's very helpful!
